Been a crazy couple of days. Friday morning I woke up and I don't know what in the world I had done, but wow...the back of my shoulder hurt! Tried to get moving and it just hurt too much. I called Joe and he came home to take care of Emery for me. I am one lucky girl! Feeling better today and was able to do some work, so that is good. Anyway, funny thing is I was way behind on everything when this happened and it just made me even more behind. Being behind got me thinking about time and about some things...
There is this phrase from an old finance book we have used in the past and it says, "Take care of what you have before you expand." It really helps in finance situations and I got to thinking this past week that it might well help with chaos in everyday life and taking on too much as well. If I just pay attention to what I already have and take care of it, I might be less likely to take on more which sometimes I tend to do way too much of and then I get overwhelmed. Isn't it crazy how somehow or another, I manage to take on stuff to do all the time?! What is that?! Why do I do that!? I say out loud I will do something before I even realize I do it. Thinking a lot about this and time issues I of course have. I don't know the answers, but I do know I can try to change it. So, my goal is to work on taking care of...
-my health-time for baths, exercise, reading, creating, writing, enough sleep, eating right-meal planning and cooking, reflecting, and thinking
-our dogs and cat-time for baths and play
-our home-time to clean and work on the already massive to do list
-Joe-snuggles and time together
-Emery-time to play, listen, and document
-friends and family-time to call and write hand written letters
And, my biggest goal is to do all of this with what we already have and to NOT take on any more or create anymore to do's!!
...all before I expand.
Does anyone else out there do this too?

Being young at heart...
Remember the days when you played so much that you were just absolutely "starving"?! I love watching my son play because it reminds me of being young and carefree. Today was just too pretty a day to clean our home (which is what I had scheduled for the day), so we packed up the picnic lunch, the pool, the tunnel, bubbles, and lots of other toys to enjoy the front yard instead. Such warm, pretty, sunny weather. I think we are both exhausted from the sun, but in a good way! Em loved being out and kept running back and forth between the pool and his "dinner" as he called it. It was so much joy to watch him shovel in the food and go back to his pool over and over and over again! I so love his youth! Good times, good laughs, and good tans! :)

Better days and a nightly ritual...
So, it is getting so much better over here these days! Em does not like the time out chair at all and really tries now to stay out of it. He was only in it once today for not doing what he was told. (A safety issue) Anyway, it has been a much more peaceful place to be-home!
This is Em's nightly ritual...playing bubblewrap and now a fun video on momma's computer before loves, hugs, and off to bed. Love it! Neat that he even knows how to work the mouse now! Kids are amazing little creatures!!

Figured it out!
So, I figured it out but it still is not the same. I will be looking to see if I want to add back my logo...but that is for another day! :)
A learning process...
As you can see, I am working on figuring out this whole blog thing and pretty much ruined my pretty work from before. Anyone know how to make the blog not extend across the entire page?!

And we go on...
It all started the other day with guests over here and Em throwing major fits and tantrums. (Hence the previous post) WOW. Ok, we are talking way worse than I have EVEN seen him in my life. Well, flash forward to yesterday in which he threw another one. And, now today he is saying things like I don't want to listen to you! Major disrespect going on over here. Needless to say even though he is feeling better in the throat department, we won't be going to a friends for crafts tomorrow or any other fun thing for a while. We need to stay home and really work on a major attitude adjustment. Have you ever taken almost all your kids toys away from them in one day? Well, it happened tonight over here. The child will get food, water, and shelter and that is about it for a while. He is just seeming way too spoiled these days not being happy with what he has or is given and is being very rude. One of his fits today (we had multiple ones) was over him wanting cheese instead of the pizza he asked for and not accepting no for an answer. He just seems to think he will get everything he asks for. He went to bed around 7pm and Joe and I ended the day making a time out chair facing the wall. He is in for a big surprise when he wakes up tomorrow. Now, I am doing my emails and blog and plan to relax on the couch soon with a movie. I need a break!!
P.S. Grandma-you will love this! He said that Grandma and Grandpa were in charge today instead of Mommy and Daddy.

Long Live the "suck-suck"
This is a page of what my son used to call suckers.
Journaling:
"On this day, you asked for a "sucker". I was shocked to hear you not call it your usual, "suck suck" and said, "Oh no! What happened to suck suck?!" You had the most serious face and said, "It just died, OK?!" Your Daddy and I had quite a laugh as we always do with your humor. I love that you are growing up, but I sure will miss some of these very fun words and phrases!"

One done
Well, I was only able to complete 1 page today and wouldn't you know it...when I took a photo to upload, the batteries on my camera died. Oh well. So, I am charging them now and probably won't be able to post until tomorrow or later. I am off soon to family time with my hubby. Loves...
Scrapbooking today!
Loving the fact that my wonderful hubby is allowing me today to do some scrapbooking. I was able to go out to the stores yesterday and stock up on stuff for National Scrapbooking Day. The last couple of years, I have wanted to participate in this wonderful holiday and have not been able to. So fun that I got to yesterday and also continue with it today. I hope to get 5 pages done. We'll see! ;)
